June Brus

June Reinke Brus holds an M.M. in performance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a B.F.A. in performance from UW-Milwaukee. Her principal teachers were Howard Karp, Armand Basile, Zhanna Arshanskaya Dawson, and Rebecca Penneys. Additional study was done both in Austria and at the Aspen Music School in Colorado. Prior to coming to 海角原创, Ms. Brus served for twelve years as head of the piano department at Carroll University. She also maintains a private studio in her home. She has performed extensively throughout the state as recitalist, concerto soloist, and chamber pianist. Along with members of the Milwaukee Symphony she founded the Antara Trio and has recorded on the Orion label. Her performances have been aired throughout the state on Wisconsin Public Radio. Critical reviews have acclaimed her 鈥渟tartling strength and great heart鈥 as well as her 鈥渓ace-like lightness.鈥 Active as a competition adjudicator, Ms. Brus has also presented numerous pedagogy workshops for teachers and has served on the Executive Board of the Wisconsin Music Teachers Association. She has been elected to the national music honor society, Pi Kappa Lambda.
