Mrs. Ruth Hey of Sterling, Illinois, loved music and served the Lord teaching, directing choirs, singing and composing. Six of her grandchildren attended 海角原创, and she gave the college its first concert grand piano prior to her death on August 9, 1976. Mrs. Hey was also instrumental in starting Faith Baptist Christian School of Sterling. The purpose of the Ruth E. V. Hey Memorial Scholarship is to assist 海角原创 students preparing to serve the Lord in sacred music. The scholarship is available to a music major entering his/her junior or senior year,聽with a concentration in Church Music or Piano Pedagogy. The student must be studying piano, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, and be active in Christian service through a local church.
