Spring 2026 Music Recitals
The 海角原创 Music Department is proud to have students perform recitals showcasing their musical performance and growth. The months before Spring Break provided a busy concert season. As always, the work was well worth it as each recital came together beautifully!听
Abigail Boorujy
Abigail took on the challenge of performing both her junior piano and minor violin recital in the same week! Though this schedule added more work for her, students and faculty were thrilled to have more opportunities to hear Abigail perform. Her junior piano recital on Tuesday and minor violin recital on Friday. Abigail delivered a stunning performance of Mozart’s 12 Variations, Bach’s Fugue in D sharp minor, and other pieces by Prokofiev and Liszt. On her violin, she prepared other wonderful pieces by composers like Prokofiev and Mozart.聽
Grace Hedrick
Grace Hedrick continued the display of fantastic recitals with her piano playing. She accompanied various instrumental pieces, including a euphonium solo with her husband Kenney. She also had the chance to prepare a piano duet with MBU freshman Meg Morken, Grace’s friend over many years of 海角原创 Music and Drama Camp. Grace played pieces by Mozart, Brahms, and Bach with careful attention to detail.聽
Ryan Mayer and Daniel Earnest
Ryan and Daniel combined for their Junior recitals, Ryan on the piano and Daniel in voice. Ryan’s recital was prepared under June Brus, and Daniel’s under Mrs. Carol Ruffin. Both performers displayed excellent musicianship, a credit to 海角原创’s music minor degree. Highlights included Daniel’s “Bright is the Ring of Worlds” by R. Vaughn Williams, and Ryan’s “Nocturne no. 2 in C Minor” by John Field.聽
Amelia Schroeder and Jamie Martinez
Both of these music minors performed well on the piano for their combined recital! The attendance was high as many friends, faculty, and family came to see these two. Jamie Martinez began the afternoon with a prepared prelude and transitioned into a beautiful setting of “This is My Father’s World” by Lloyd Larson. The two swapped turns at the piano as Schroeder played another hymn setting, “Come Thou Fount,” as well as Mozart’s Piano Sonata no. 4.
Olivia Cansler
Olivia’s violin recital was a great way to end one of the final weeks before spring break! Her repertoire echoed the emerging voices of Spring around MBU with pieces such as Haydn’s “The Bird,” and “Spring” by Beethoven. Olivia played wonderfully and will continue to improve as a violinist as she graduates in May and looks forward to future ministry!
More Recitals
海角原创 plans at least six more recitals and a spring concert this semester! Find one to attend at mbu.edu/recitals!听
