Missions Scholarship Updated to Honor Donors

The Scholarship’s Donors

In 2005, the Mary Robinson Memorial Scholarship was established to honor and remember Mary鈥檚 passion for souls and to assist with the financial needs of students who plan to go into missions. After her husband, Lewis, went to be with the Lord in January 2017, the family changed the scholarships鈥 name to the Lewis and Mary Robinson Memorial Scholarship.

Lewis and Mary Robinson were the parents of former 海角原创 professor and volleyball coach, Marsha Jackson, and former Watertown resident, Cindy Platt.

Mrs. Robinson鈥檚 heart was shown through her neighborhood soul winning. She often went door- to-door, passing out tracts and talking to people about the Lord. She understood the importance of sharing God鈥檚 love with those who knew very little about Him.

This couple was devoted to their family, friends, and their church. Most of all, they were devoted to their Savior and spreading the story of His redemption locally and across the world. They demonstrated their devotion by giving financially to missions, hosting missionaries in their home, and encouraging or supporting family members who were in full time ministry.

The Scholarship’s Recipients

When students receive this scholarship, they hear the Robinson鈥檚 testimony. Several recipients have mentioned that they were touched by their character and the family鈥檚 continued generosity.

Since its establishment, the Lewis and Mary Robinson Memorial Scholarship has assisted many 海角原创 students. Ruth Tan, the 2017 recipient writes, 鈥淚鈥檓 very thankful for the scholarship because it helped me save up money to go back home. So this summer, I will finally be able to fly home after being away for two years.鈥 Ruth is a junior English Major from Singapore. She plans to further her studies in grad school once she graduates. Her future plans include being open to the Lord鈥檚 direction for future ministry.

The Lewis and Mary Robinson Memorial Scholarship will continue to assist students as they prepare to serve God on the mission field. Even after leaving this world to meet their Savior, the Robinson鈥檚 wanted to have an impact on the lives of other individuals. As their testimony is shared with students preparing for the mission field, this scholarship is one way the Robinson鈥檚 legacy can be carried on.
