My Cadet Basic Camp Experience

rotc-cadets-tm-06
This summer, I had the opportunity to go to Fort Knox to participate in Cadet Initial Entry Training which is now known as Basic Camp. I was there from July 10th to August 9th as a part of the 6th regiment. The goal of this training was to teach cadets basic soldier skills as well as to prepare them to be leaders in their respective ROTC programs as they gain more responsibilities in the coming years.

While in training, me and my fellow cadets were taught various tactics and skills which we will continue to develop in the future. My personal highlights from this training were the marksmanship training, the gas chamber, the grenade assault course, the high ropes course, the repel tower, and the first aid instruction. Overall, I am glad I had the opportunity to participate in this training to help better myself in numerous aspects.
